ULVAC Technologies offers paid sampling services for material characterizations in the areas of simultaneous measurement of the Seebeck Coefficient and Electrical Resistivity of Thermoelectric Materials. These measurements are conducted on the ZEM Series instrument. These sampling experiments can also be supplemented by Rapid Thermal Processing exposures, using the Mila gold image heating system.
ULVAC Technologies also offers paid sampling experiments for nanomaterials deposition using the Arc Plasma Deposition System. This is new deposition technology, using pulsed vacuum arc plasma discharge. Arc Plasma Discharge (APD) is a unique form of physical vapor deposition which can be used to deposit uniformly sized nanoparticles (2 nm to 9 nm diameter) of platinum and other conductive metals onto micron-sized powder substrates. This capability enables research experiments for: Fuel Cell, thin Film Battery and catalyst research. Deposition of magnetic materials, alloys, DLC, and dense metal films, all without any process gas is possible. Extremely smooth and dense multi-layer films can also be produced at rates of from 0.01, to 0.3 nm/second. Film uniformity is +/- 10% over a 50 nm dia. coated area.
